Security experts at Arbor Networks linked a new Acronym malware to the malicious code used by threat actors behind the Operation Potao Express. The malware could be linked to the malware used by the POTAo malware family. Researchers started the investigation after the Italian researchers Antelox shared a link to a VirusTotal analysis on Twitter. The analysis of the code and of the dropper suggested a possible link to the PotaO malware family, which has been around since at least 2011, but it was first analyzed in detail in 2015.”]
