Apple Releases Security Update to Block Bad Web Certificates

Apple releases Security Update 2011-005 for Snow Leopard and Lion. Update addresses fraudulent Web security certificates issued by recently-hacked Dutch certificate authority DigiNotar. Update also configures default system trust settings so that certificate authority’s certificates are not trusted. The Security Update is available for Lion or Snow Leopard users on Apple’s Mac OSX software, or download the update directly from the company’s website, via Software Update or Software Update through Apple’s Software Update page, or from Software Update.”]
