Apple Launches Payments Platform

Apple announces Apple Pay, which allows users to pay for items using the new iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or new wearable technology known as Apple Watch. Apple Pay will work with the three major payment networks – American Express, MasterCard and Visa. Payments will be available in the U.S. in October and work is under way to take the technology worldwide soon, Apple says. Experts say Apple’s announcement may be the catalyst to legitimize near field communication technology and improve security. Apple Watch will be released Sept. 19, as well as Apple Pay – coming early next year.”]
