APIs, App Updates Create New Vulnerabilities

New survey by Radware finds 89% of companies have experienced attacks against web applications or servers in the past 12 months. 70% of respondents said they don’t require authentication from third-party APIs and 62% don’t encrypt data sent by API gateways. 90% of those surveyed said they were confident their organizations could mitigate application-layer attacks. The need to update applications on a daily or even hourly basis is contributing to new security concerns, says Radware’s Mike O’Malley. Smaller operations with fewer IT resources may be more vulnerable, he says.”]
