Apex Legends Fans Targeted with Malware and Scam Campaigns

A fake Apex Legends for Android APK is being peddled by multiple channels on YouTube in the form of an APK download link which has been clicked roughly 100,000 times in the past five days. Phishing AI, a Twitter account powered by cybersecurity company Lookout, spotted dozens of domains used to run phishing campaigns by pushing apex coin scams, fake aimbots and a variety of other game cheats, and even a free Apex Legends download. The scam is especially dangerous considering that the game already has a huge playerbase, having reached 25 million players within a single week after its launch.
