Another Breach Reveals Weak Passwords: Will We Ever Learn?

More than 188,000 passwords for LinkedIn subscribers to Gawker were posted to the Web last year. Analyzing LinkedIn passwords reveals similarities between them and the favorites of Gawker users. LinkedIn members tended to stay away from old standbys of lazy password and qwerty. The site’s top ten most common passwords were short, but not very strong either: lifehacker, monkey, and consumer.
