Nevada State Bank acquired Silver State Bank, the 11th failed U.S. bank of 2008. The acquisition process began with Nevada State bidding on Silver State through the FDIC’s troubled bank list. Nevada State is a subsidiary of Salt Lake City-based Zions Bancorporation, a major bank holding company.
