An $80M Bank Hack Has Been Blamed on $10 Routers

Bangladesh’s central bank has lost $80m in a hack on second-hand $10 routers. Hackers managed to make off with high-value transfers before they were found out. Police have found 20 people who received payments as part of the heist but are yet to find the hackers themselves. The lack of sophisticated hardware is also making it harder to trace the origin of the hacks, as well as the fact that the bank was using only second hand routers without a firewall to link its computers.”]
