AMCHAM (T&T) hosts a Cyber Security webinar

Loop Trinidad & Tobago published an article on May 26, 2020, about how cybersecurity is crucial to doing business during COVID-19. Here’s a summary:

  • Due to COVID-19, businesses want to protect their digital assets as the world is adapting to remote working arrangements. Seeing the importance of cybersecurity, companies should invest more in cybersecurity tools and policies as the pandemic has created new opportunities for criminals to disrupt economic and health systems.
  • The absence of an added layer of digital protection can lead to hackers taking advantage of a remote workforce or unsuspecting customers. To protect teams of employees and company sensitive information from cyberattacks, organizations should implement a singular cybersecurity policy that will follow a person around where they go and every device they use.
  • Interconnectivity and movement and storage of data mandate the need for proper cybersecurity but also drive the conversation towards data privacy and protection of confidential data for consumers. Companies should build consumer trust as they manage their digital transformation journey as cybersecurity and privacy should be basic requirements of any business.
