AEP Networks announces general availability of its SmartGate product. Release 5.1 includes advances in file access and support for wireless mobile devices. SmartGate is an identity-based application layer security gateway designed for large-scale, distributed, information-sharing environments. The SmartPass client now supports PocketPC 2005 and Windows Mobile 5 using the popular Opera browser. Concurrent User licensing is now available for SmartGate, in addition to Named Seats (both types of licensing are supported) SmartGate offers inside-out access control by forcing user traffic to route via the SmartGate server to get outside the network.”]
