Accused Kelihos Botnet Maker Worked for Two Security Firms

Andrey Sabelnikov worked for two Russian security-related firms from 2005 to 2011, LinkedIn profile says. Microsoft says it identified the man through its analysis of the Kelihos botnet. Microsoft also accused Sabelkov of registering more than 3,700 “czcc” subdomains from dotFREE to control the botnet, court papers say. Sabelov worked for Agnitum, Retunil and Teknavo, a consultancy that develops software for financial organizations. Microsoft first filed the lawsuit last September as part of a takedown of a spam-ridden botnet last September.”]
