Cybercriminals exploited a weakness in Accellions File Transfer Appliance (FTA), a tool for securely sharing files online, to gain access to files stored on the appliances. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Transport for NSW, business regulator ASIC, and business regulator TfNSW are among those affected by the breach. Cybersecurity NSW says an assessment of the volume and value of data, and any consequences for customers or government, is in progress.
