A new Data and Privacy Taskforce in Bermuda

The Royal Gazette published an article on August 20, 2020, about the creation of a data and privacy task force by Abir. Here’s a summary:

ADAPT will:

  1. Support the mission and goals of the privacy commissioner;
  2. Provide a two-way communication channel between the Privacy Commissioner and key stakeholder groups;
  3. Act as a resource and support for the implementation of PIPA;
  4. Facilitate the education of key stakeholders about PIPA;
  5. Provide a forum for addressing unique industry issues related to data protection with stakeholder feedback on the likely impact and effectiveness of codes of practice and the administration of PIPA;
  6. Assist in creating public awareness about PIPA.
