John “Chris” Inglis has been confirmed as national cyber director. He will oversee the defense of federal networks and infrastructure as well as the cyber budgets of various agencies. He has more than 40 years of experience in the federal government, including 28 years at the U.S. National Security Agency. The White House is asking Congress to approve $15 million to support the Office of the National Cyber Director within the White House. The position, however, will not involve offensive cyber activities, which will remain with the National Security Council.”]
