Georgia cable and wire manufacturer Southwire is suing its “John Doe” Maze gang attacker or attackers in U.S. federal court. Maze gang demanded 850 bitcoins in ransom, then worth $6.1 million, but Southwire has refused to pay the ransom. Southwire also obtained a court injunction in Ireland to force offline a website being used by the gang to try to name and shame victims and also dump data the gang stole from victims before leaving their systems crypto-locked. Maze ransomware gang has also taken credit for infecting the city of Pensacola, Florida, among many other victims.”]
