Malspam Campaigns Attempt to Install Remote Access Trojans

Malspam campaigns using COVID-19 as a lure are attempting to install the Remcos remote access Trojan on victims’ devices. Microsoft Security Intelligence unit says the attacks are targeting organizations in the U.S. and South Korea. Remote access Trojan can give attackers full control over infected devices and capture screenshots and audio recordings. It’s not clear if all these attacks are related, but Microsoft researchers found that all the attacks attempt to install Remcos. Unlike more prominent malware, these campaigns appear to be limited and short-lived, an attempt to fly under the radar.”]
