The number of information security analysts in the United States grew by 34 percent to 74,000 in the first quarter of 2015. In the fourth quarter of 2014, the IT security analysts’ workforce soared by 42 percent. The average annual salary of an information security analyst is $91,600. The Defense Department is more aggressive than most private-sector companies in seeking IT security personnel.
