Developing IT Security Best Practices

National Institute of Standards and Technology issues initial analysis of comments on cybersecurity best practices framework. Preliminary version of the framework, which the owners of the nation’s critical IT infrastructure could voluntarily adopt, is scheduled to be published in the fall. President Obama ordered NIST to work with industry to establish best IT security practices. The final version of a framework slated to be issued next February, says Donna Dodson, chief of NIST’s computer security division and deputy chief cybersecurity adviser. At NIST, Dodson oversees the institute’s cybersecurity program to conduct research, development and outreach.”]
