Cybercrime Gang: Fraud Estimates Hit $1B

A new report estimates that a notorious cybercrime gang has stolen up to $1 billion from banks in Russia, the U.S. and beyond. The Anunak gang is using “jackpotting” malware that infects ATMs and which attackers can use to issue cash from ATMs, on demand. The gang’s attacks have been under way since 2013, security experts say, although they weren’t immediately spotted in August of 2014. In fact, this appears to be the same group that a report from Group-IB and Fox-IT profiled in December.”]
