Congress Hears Ideas for Boosting Cybersecurity Workforce

A House subcommittee held a hearing on building the cybersecurity workforce in the U.S. There are 460,000 trained cybersecurity workers in the United States. The federal government and the private sector need to consider accepting high school graduates as entry-level employees, experts say. The hearing was held last week by the Homeland Security Committee’s subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection and Innovation. The panel also heard testimony from five witnesses who listed flaws in the way the government and private sector attempt to attract, train and retain potential cybersecurity workers.”]
