Carphone Warehouse Hack Exposes Data of 2.4 Million Customers

U.K.-based mobile phone retailer says it is investigating a cyber-attack that may have breached 2.4 million customers. Names, addresses, dates of birth and bank account details may have been exposed, Carphone Warehouse says. Encrypted payment card data affiliated with up to 90,000 of those customers may also be exposed. The breach of PII, such as address and date of birth, will likely be the most concerning aspect of this attack. Security experts have warned why PII is increasingly more valuable for hackers than card data.”]
