WannaCry’s Ransom Note: Great Chinese, Not-So-Hot Korean

Linguistic analysis of WannaCry ransom note suggests Chinese language version came first. Identity of the individual or group behind the massive attack on computers remains unclear. Security firm Flashpoint says whoever wrote the ransom notes appears to have been fluent in Chinese, but lacking written English skills. Security experts say there is no conclusive evidence tying the attack to either Lazarus or North Korea. But security experts say the campaign appears to be launched by amateurs – potentially script kiddies – who cobbled together code and created a worm.”]
