Australian Financial Regulator Hit by Data Breach

Australian Securities and Investments Commission says credit license applications were accessed without authorization. Law firm Allens was also the victim of a breach tied to the unpatched Accellion vulnerability. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand was the first to come forward as a victim of an exploit of the vulnerability. New Zealand’s Reserve Bank Gov. Adrian Orr gave an unusually direct apology, saying the banks actions “have fallen short of the public’s expectations” The company said fewer than 50 of its customers were affected.”]
