AT&T Sued Over $24 Million Cryptocurrency SIM Hijack Attacks

Michael Terpin is suing AT&T for $224 million over two SIM hijacking attacks where his phone number was commandeered by attackers. The attack involves an attacker convincing a mobile provider to move a number to a different SIM card. SIM hijack attacks can result in account compromises by stealing one-time passcodes sent over SMS. AT &T: “We dispute these allegations and look forward to presenting our case in court” The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles.”]
