Cyberattacks becoming more common and costly: Ponemon

The Ponemon Institutes 2012 Cost of Cyber Crime study, sponsored by HP, found that Australian companies experience 40 attacks per week or 1.2 per company per week, amounting to an average cost of $3.2 million per year. The most costly cybercrimes continue to be those caused by denial of services, malicious insiders and web-based attacks. Disruption to business processes and revenue losses represent the highest external cost, accounting for 41 and 54 per cent, respectively.”]
