Symantec Patent Helps BitTorrent Users to Spot Malware and Fakes * TorrentFreak

Malware, viruses and fake files have been populating BitTorrent sites for years. Security firm Symantec has submitted a patent application for a system that can spot malicious torrents before they are downloaded. The system evaluates the “reputation” of BitTorrent files by looking at the trustworthiness of the tracker, peers, and other key factors.
