UK authorities sentenced hacker who blackmailed Apple for $100,000

Kerem Albayrak threatened to wipe date from iPhones, iPads and Macs if Apple did not pay $150,000 ransom. 22-year-old claimed to have access to over 627 millions of iCloud credentials. Sentenced to two-year suspended jail term, 300 hours of unpaid work, and a six-month electronic curfew. Apple confirmed there were no signs of a network compromise in the extortion attempt, according to the National Cyber Crime Unit of the UK and US.”]
