Coronavirus: Cabinet talks held on Zoom days after software was banned by Ministry of Defence

Ministry of Defence staff banned from using videoconference service Zoom just days earlier over security fears. Cabinet ministers held talks on Britain’s coronavirus response using Zoom. Government tried to assuage concerns by saying there is no security reason for Zoom not to be used for conversations below a certain classification. Industry expert raises concerns over the service’s security, privacy and networking technology. But he warned the company was “slow” to address a “webcam security flaw” last year which allowed an attacker to hijack the user’s webcam through Apple Macs.”]
