Hootsuite suffers DoS attack, reassures users

Social media management tool Hootsuite has recovered from a denial of service (DoS) attack which left users unable to use the system for some time yesterday. CEO of the company, Ryan Holmes, emailed customers to reassure them that their personal data was safe.DoS attacks occur when someone floods a service with traffic so that legitimate users can no longer access it. No data is stolen or compromised, but interruption to the service can be costly for an organisation. The service is now back up and running, as normal.”]
