WhatsApp and privacy will Facebook make things better, worse, or both?

Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19,000,000 million in March. Privacy groups have filed a complaint with the US authorities about the service’s privacy policy. WhatsApp’s CEO, Jan Koum, tried to assuage everyones fears by saying:Respect for your privacy is coded into our DNA, and we built WhatsApp around the goal of knowing as little about you as possible. WhatsApp was investigated and censured in 2013 for a number of privacy violations, following a joint investigation by Canadian and Dutch regulators.”]
