Police discover 3D printer parts, suspect gun making factory

Police officers in Manchester, UK seized a 3D printer which they initially thought was being used to make a gun. Part of the printer was originally thought to be a magazine capable of holding bullets. 3D printers can by used to fabricate very intricate plastic objects, including knives and firearms. One man was arrested on suspicion of creating gunpowder and remains in custody for questioning. The printer is already available in the UK for around 1,000 and the cost of producing a Liberator estimated at around 16, 3D printing could yet prove a stealthy means to acquire lethal weapons.”]
