PlayStation Network hacked: five days and counting

The Sony PlayStation Network has been offline since Wednesday 20th April. The network is used by millions of online video game players around the world. Sony says an ‘external intrusion’ caused the network to be brought down after a ‘time intensive’ effort to secure the infrastructure. However, the company has not addressed the issue of whether any personal information has been compromised by whoever attacked the network. The spectre of data loss is a worrying one lets hope that nothing so sensitive has been lost.”]
