Aleksandr Andreevich Panin and Hamza Bx1 Bendelladj were convicted of making and selling the SpyEye botnet creation kit. Panin developed SpyEye as successor to the notorious Zeus malware that had wreaked havoc on financial institutions around the world. Bx1, an Algerian national, pleaded guilty in June 2015 to helping Panin develop and market SpyEye kit. He also admitted to running his own spynet of hacked Windows computers, a crime machine that he used to harvest and steal 200,000 credit card numbers.”]
