Cyber security spending for critical infrastructure totalled US$41.76 billion globally in 2012. The money was spent by nation states, non-governmental organisations, technical bodies, and private sector operators. The report also pointed out that increased spending over the next five years will be driven by a growing number of policies and procedures in education, training, R&D, awareness programmes, standardisation work, and cooperation among other projects.
