Virgin Mobile fined for sending email spam

The Australian spam watchdog has fined Virgin Mobile AU $22,000 (approximately 13,200) The Australian Communications and Media Authority received complaints from Virgin Mobile customers who had requested not to receive email messages from the firm. The company was found to have sent emails to customers who opted out of receiving promotions. The watchdog received complaints and fined the company AU $23,000. The fine is approximately 13.200. The Australian watchdog has not commented on the details of the fine. It is believed that the email was sent from within Virgin Mobile, and the recipient knew that the recipient had requested that the firm not to send further emails.”]
