Visitors to TV station websites targeted in malvertising attack

A malvertising attack campaign is targeting two CBS-affiliated TV stations in North Carolina and St. Louis. The rogue advertiser hijacked GoDaddy accounts to create subdomains pointing to malicious servers. Malicious ad banners were displayed to those who visited the websites belonging to the two CBS TV stations. The Angler exploit kit has been used in the past to drop a number of malicious programs onto a victims computer, including Bedep and the CryptXXX ransomware. Site owners also have a part to play in the fight against malvertising by implementing software patches and security updates.”]
