The Kansas Secretary of States website left exposed the last four digits of Social Security numbers belonging to numerous candidates for office. Kris Kobach, the Republican frontrunner in the gubernatorial election, has been accused of leaking sensitive information. Kobach and nearly every member of the Kansas state legislature were exposed. The site was taken down within roughly an hour after Gizmodo alerted the office of the exposure, which is illegal under numerous state and federal laws.
