Hackers Are Using Find My iPhone to Hold iOS Devices for Ransom

Hackers appear to be using Find My iPhone to lock iOS devices remotely and then demand a ransom to unlock them. The ransom is payable through PayPal, and you should not pay it. If you’ve already been hit, PayPal says it will refund the ransom money. It’s unclear if the exploit happens due to a vulnerability in the app or through a compromised iCloud account. Apple says iCloud was not compromised during this incident and users should change their Apple ID password as soon as possible, but it’s worth changing your iCloud password.”]
