William Luxemburg from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands hacked together a water-level sensor. He re-programmed the Wiimote’s output to measure evaporation in a tub of water. He’s intrigued by what else Wiimotes could be used on, if programmed the right way, he says. It’s a simple and cost-effective way to achieve the same results that pressure sensors costing $500 or more can produce. Don’t be surprised if you hear of plenty more innovative uses for the $40 remote.”]
