New research says your ears are unique in the world. University of Southampton researchers say ear scanning will allow airport security to track travelers as they age. An ear-based scanning system would only require two cameras that would snap photos as you handed over your passport. The team’s leader says the ears “age very gracefully” and grow proportionally larger and your lobe gets a bit more elongated, but otherwise your ear is fully formed from birth. It’s hoped the technology will be able to scan travelers without facial biometrics.”]
