Computer spyware is newest weapon in Syrian conflict

A U.S.-based antivirus software maker analyzed one of the viruses at CNN’s request. It says it was recently written for a specific cyberespionage campaign. It passes information it robs from computers to a server at a government-owned telecommunications company in Syria. An IT specialist says dozens of opposition members have heard from dozens of activists who say their computers were infected. Activists accuse government forces of coercing him to reveal his user name and of then going online to impersonate him.”]
