Windows 7 is EOL, meaning it’s reached the end of its lifecycle. Microsoft says it’s time to move on to a more secure OS, but that doesn’t mean you no longer need security software. Windows 10 includes Microsoft Edge instead of Internet Explorer, which is targeted most often by exploits. Even Windows 10 machines need anti-malware protection, but layering up built-in protection with security software is important, even if you decide to switch to another OS.
