Verizons 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) found that 33 percent of data breaches included social attacks. Social engineering, along with misuse, error, and physical, do not rely on the existence of cyberstuff. Technology is rapidly evolving, but tools alone cannot protect against cyberattacks.
