The Charming Kitten, the Iranian hacking group, has a close relationship with Irans state and Intelligence services. The group has used fake interview scenarios like Invitation to a Deutsche Welle Webinar with the related topics of Iran and international affairs in order to trick their targets. Phishing is one of the main tactics that has been used by the group, social engineering and fake emails are the usual methods of executing it. In one case, hackers forged the New York Times journalist Farnaz Fassihi’s identity as a Wall Street Journal reporter to send interview request emails to victims and guide them to their phishing websites.”]
