Avira incompatible with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012

German security company Avira says its products are incompatible with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 with existing Avira products will result in a blue error screen. The problem will only be fixed by the company in the first quarter of 2013. On systems that have already been upgraded to the latest version of Windows, Avira software can only be uninstalled manually on systems that need to be booted in safe mode to uninstall the software. The company says “significant changes to the operating system platform” are the reason for the incompatibility.”]
