Android malware activates itself through incoming calls

Lookout Security reports that Google has removed 34 Android apps from its Market that were infected with malicious code. The apps are infected with Droid Dream Light (DDLight), a variant of the DroidDream malware which was injected into more than 50 apps in March 2011. Lookout estimates that the number of potential victims is between 30,000 and 120,000. Some of the malware samples are modified versions of apps that have been available on the Market for quite some time. The criminals used the Magic Photo Studio, Mango Studio, E.T. Tean, BeeGo, DroidPlus and GluMobi.”]
