Cohere Technologies and VMware are developing an O-RAN solution to help CSPs improve network and spectrum efficiencies. The solution will bring together the RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) Platform and Cohere’s Spectrum Multiplier and Cloud Scheduler xApps. It is expected to be available by the end of the calendar year and will be available to CSP customers by end of 2014. The RAN is by far the most costly and complex part of a CSP network as workloads run there require ultra-low latency and high performance.
