Microsoft released its monthly patch Tuesday bulletins fixing more than 40 vulnerabilities in a variety of products including Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer and Sharepoint Server. The release brings the total number of security fixes to 106 the highest total ever for the company. Microsoft said that two of the 17 vulnerabilities were rated critical its highest severity rating. An expert at Kaspersky Lab said that one of those holes, affecting Internet Explorer, is being actively exploited by malware in the wild. The vulnerability affects Internet Explorer version 6, 7 and 8 running on most supported versions of Windows and Windows Server.
