Caribbean Journal published an article about Regional Cybersecurity in Curacao. Here’s a quick summary for you.
“The best way to improve the security of a computer network is to break into it.” Advice from cybersecurity expert, Fernando Gont of SI6 Networks.
The eighth regional gathering of the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG) was held in Curacao. Many experts presented on cybersecurity including Mark Kosters, chief technical officer of the American Registry of Internet Numbers (ARIN), and Carlos Martínez, chief technology officer at LACNIC.
The meeting covered a range of technology topics, including critical Internet infrastructure and cloud computing. An emphasis was placed on social networking being equally important as computer networking. The CaribNOG meeting is where competitors in daily business become colleges with a common interest in defending Caribbean networks.
