Yahoo ID recycling plan criticized

Yahoo plans to deactivate inactive user accounts linked to Yahoo accounts. The move could lead to increased risk of identity theft. The company says it has gone to extraordinary lengths to prevent it happening. The plan includes a 30-day waiting period for those accounts to be deactivated from July 15 to come back to the site. The agency says it is working with Google and other sites to avoid potential theft. It says it will send emails to those who may have been affected by the move.
